More on the "postponed" tour

The scheduled tour for prominent Egyptian singer Amr Diab and Lebanese singer Mariam Fares around the USA and Canada has been postponed. The tour, which was previously set to begin in May, has been postponed to take place in October or possibly March 2008.

According to the London based Elaph, producer Yousef Harb revealed that the change of dates is due to the fact that Amr was supposed to have completed his new album and release it at the beginning of the current year, but he had delayed it since he was not finished with recording all the songs.

Harb added that Amr did not want to present anything to his fans unless he had something new for them, and therefore he was forced to postpone his tour.

Harb stated that Amr will still hold the scheduled concert with Mariam in Las Vegas since he can not back out of it due to the fact that all the preparations have been completed for it.

Amr has so far recorded 40 different songs, of which he will choose the most suitable to include in his new album. The singer had revealed that he will not return to his fans unless he has something new to present and he is sure of outstanding success unlike his previous releases in the recent period that were did not meet his high standards.

It has been revealed that Amr has signed a new contract with the international soft drink company Pepsi worth 3 million US dollars. Link

Adaweya denies problems

Singer Muhammad Adaweya denied having any sort of problems with artist Amr Diab, asserting that what happened was that Amr Diab had listened to the song Ana Delwaaty , composed by Adaweya during his presence in Nader Hamdi's Studio, and stated that he liked it and wanted to put it in his album.
Diab then recorded the song, but refrained from adding it to the album in the last minute, so Muhammad Adaweya added it to his instead. That is why some people thought there was a problem between both of them. Adaweya stated that this was completely groundless because he respects and appreciates Amr Diab so much.

Adaweya jr. also denied what was said about him moving to Rotana, asserting that he is so "comfortable" in dealing with producer Yasser Hassanein, the owner of Kelma company. Link

Star Academy Egypt

First there was LBC star Academy ... Then came Star Academy Maghreb and the future seems to hold a new version of this extremely popular show; Star Academy Egypt!
Egyptian singer Amr Diab has been planning this for some time now and after taking the OK from the Egyptian ministry of communications it seems he will go ahead with his plan.

The show will be a bit different that our usual Star Academy, the prime will supposedly air on Thursday, but there will be a daily summary of the life inside the Academy.

It's still now known whether there'll be a 24/24 channel like Nagham ... But it still sounds interesting! Link
