A date with Amr Diab


With only a few days left for Amr Diab’s upcoming performance, the city is getting ready for the arrival of the Arab world’s most popular singer.

Fans from all over the UAE are flocking to purchase tickets in what is expected to be a sellout concert with an attendance of more than 10,000 during this DSF.

With Dubai Shopping Festival 2008 hosting a number of large events and concerts representing varying cultures, Amr Diab promises to be one of the biggest concerts this year’s DSF.

Amr Diab will perform in Dubai for the second consecutive year, and his performance is slated to attract crowds from different nationalities with his popularity extending well beyond the GCC and the Middle East.

Tickets are available at Splash outlets in Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi as well as Virgin Megastores and online at www.showbizme.com and www.timeouttickets.com.

The concert is scheduled to take place on the 1st of February 2008 at the Megabowl in Area A of Zabeel Park. Parking is abundant around the park and access to the venue is through gates 1 and 3.

Life story on MBC

Numerous projects are on the agenda for Lebanese television broadcaster Razan Moughrabi, among which is presenting a new program on the Arab satellite television channel MBC. The new program will revolve around narrating the life story of famous Egyptian pop-star Amr Diab.

Preparations for the program will begin once the producer reaches an agreement with the singer. Link

Amr Diab, the Arabic singing sensation, is all set to take Dubai by storm for yet another scintillating performance when he takes the stage at the Megabowl in Area A at Dubai’s Zabeel Park, on February 1. The concert is one among many lined up during the Dubai Shopping Festival 2008.

Following the tremendous success of last year’s concert, the singer’s fans will have the chance once more to hear him live in the first ever concert to take place at the brand new venue in Zabeel Park. Patrons can also expect a host of surprises from a state-of-the-art sound and light system to a passionate performance by the famed artist.

Elissa writes Amr

Lebanese singer Elissa recently wrote a letter to Egyptian singer Amr Diab to congratulate him on winning a major ‘Music Award.’ elissa

“You are a great music artist and you deserve an award even greater than the ‘Music Award,’ and I wish you all the best,” wrote Elissa.

Rumors claimed that Elissa was initially angry when she heard that Amr had received the ‘Music Award’ for best singer for 2007. Elissa’s letter was an attempt to end these rumors. “I wanted to congratulate Amr from the bottom of my heart,” said Elissa
